Breaking News

Guess what folks. On January 13th 2016, I celebrated my 13th birthday. Not bad for someone with an incurable disease. Who said that 13 is an unlucky number?

I haven't had any medication for my IMHA for about 6 years. I do have to have regular meds for arthritis in my hips caused by the hip dysplasia I was born with. I can't hear anything like as well as I used to. The up side of that is that fireworks no longer bother me. My eyesight is poor too. A 2 or 3 km walk is about enough for me nowadays. But that is age for you.

My mum, Fran, died of cancer in 2012. I have a new mum, Svetlana who looks after me and whom I love.

I am still having a really great life and have had loads of experiences over the years. I'd like to share some of these with you through photos on this website. Click on Diary to see them

In October 2007 our dog Beau was diagnosed with IMHA. We immediately started scouring the Web for information about the disease. We came across a number of good web sites, which we have included in the Links page.

The three of us are very fortunate in that he has a fabulous vet. Julia Boness has a veterinary hospital in mid Bedfordshire. She has great staff in all senses of the word - highly qualified, professional and very caring. The care they bring to their patients is underpinned by state of the art equipment and technology.

Beau is a very sociable character, much loved by our many friends. Fran was inundated with e-mails and phone calls checking on his condition. So we thought we would put this site together to keep people up to date and to give other people in our position some information, and hopefully, inspiration, support and cause for optimism.  Of course, in the last of these we are in the laps of the gods - all of them.
